DAN's 16th National Action in London

Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th, Friday 26th April 2002

The disabled people's Direct Action Network is staging 3 days of non violent protest in London this spring. We are campaigning against Charging for Services and for a Bill to be introduced which will give all disabled people the choice and support they need to live in the community.

Core components of this Bill would be :-

  • A programme to increase the stock of affordable accessible housing
  • An end to charging and means testing
  • Independent living centres run by disabled people in every area
  • And that the services follow the person so that if you move you don't have to be constantly reassessed.

It's time to talk to Blair about our Freedom!

DAN wants to work with BCODP to draft the “Freedom Bill” which will ensure that the dream of many of full participation and equality becomes a reality.

DAN’s “Free our People” campaign reaches back to those disabled people we have left in institutions despite our progress.

If you would like to come we have accessible accommodation for Wednesday and Thursday at £35 per night (sharing).

For the 1st Action on Wednesday 24th we are meeting at the Coffee Shop at Westminster Abbey at 2pm. We have some questions for Mr Blair!
