Book Review: When Life's Not Fair

Let us know whether you have come across any relevant books which provide information for disabled people.

“When Life’s Not Fair” is a new book published at the beginning of the year published by the Standing Conference of Voluntary Organisations for People with a Learning Disability in Wales - it's written in both English and Welsh. This is a guide to lobbying and Campaigning written by Ann Sheild and Gwynneth Strong, funded by the National Lottery Charities Board. The guide is based on an idea from SCOVO to encourage member organisations when making a case for

  • Additional or continued funding
  • The continuation or development of services
  • Raising awareness of the rights of people who have a learning difficulty

The book is in large print and picture formatted and would be a practical tool for people with learning difficulties to use in their own groups. Although it is directed at people in Wales, it is written in both Welsh and English. For a copy contact SCOVO Head Office, 5 Dock Chambers, Bute Street, Cardiff, CF10 5AG 029 2049 2443.
